Accommodation
To start with, Phuket is actually quite a large island - it takes around an hour to drive from the north to south coast, without too much traffic. Because of this, and the fact that traffic can be incredibly bad in the Bang Tao and Patong areas, location is very important! There are so many different accommodation options that these recommendations are just a small selection, but hopefully the below helps provide some guidance.
Naithon Beach
Naithon is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, and much less crowded than some others nearby. There are several small restaurants and bars on the beach, and it’s about a 15-20 minute drive from the very busy Bang Tao area, which has even more to do.
Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach
We’re hosting both the wedding ceremony and reception here, so of course we think this resort is beautiful and a great option for everyone! Naithonburi Beach Resort
Located just a 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the Pullman! Walking distance from many different restaurant options along Naithon beach. About as close as you can get to the Pullman without staying there. However, apparently they do not release rooms for booking more than 5 months ahead of time on their website - if you would like to book with them, you’ll need to reach out to their reservations team by phone!

Andaman White Beach Hotel
Located on a small private beach just south of Naithon Beach, this is about a 5-minute drive from the Pullman. However, it’s not really a walkable location and there aren’t many other things in the immediate area.

Layan Beach
Layan Beach is nearby Naithon, just a bit further south. However, it’s a more remote area though, so it’s not walkable to anything else.
Anantara Layan Phuket Resort
An absolutely beautiful and luxurious resort, and about a 15-minute drive from the Pullman. However, the part of the beach immediately in front of the hotel is not as scenic as some of the others nearby.

Nai Yang Beach
Nai Yang is just one beach further north than Naithon Beach, towards Phuket Airport. There are plenty of restaurants and bars located in the immediate area, within walking distance. However, the area and the beach aren’t quite as nice as some of the others a bit further south, since it is so close to the airport.
The Slate
The Slate is located about 5 minutes walking away from Nai Yang Beach, and about a 12-minute drive from the Pullman. Definitely one of the more affordable 5-star hotels available.

Nai Yang Beach Resort
Located on Nai Yang Beach, just a few minutes away from The Slate hotel. About a 15-minute drive from the Pullman, and less than 10 minutes from Phuket airport.

Laguna Area
The area around the Laguna has many different accommodation options available, and lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping too. Bang Tao Beach, located very nearby, is one of the most popular (and crowded) beaches in the area, with several different watersport activities available (jetskiing, kayaking, etc.). But as this is a very popular area, the hotels tend to be a bit more expensive, and the traffic can get quite bad! We would suggest that you leave yourself plenty of extra time if you’re planning on traveling around the Laguna/Bang Tao area anywhere near rush hour.
Banyan Tree Phuket
Located within the Laguna, you’re still only a couple of minutes walking from Bang Tao Beach. A famously luxurious hotel chain, the Banyan Tree provides a very high-end experience, including a golf course. A bit further north than the rest of the hotels in this area, it’s about a 17-minute drive from the Pullman without traffic (although there is usually traffic!)

Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket
Located right next to Bang Tao Beach, the Dusit Thani can provide a great view of both the ocean and the laguna. Without traffic, it’s about a 20-minute drive from the Pullman, although we would recommend you leave extra time to get anywhere.

Located right on Bang Tao Beach, very nearby the Dusit Thani, Saii Laguna is another beautiful resort. Again, it’s located about 20-25 minutes from the Pullman, but in a high-traffic area.

Laguna Phuket
Also located right on Bang Tao Beach, very close to the Dusit Thani and Saii Laguna, this is a slightly more affordable option still very near all the restaurants, bars, and shopping in Bang Tao. Again, it’s located about 20-25 minutes from the Pullman, but in a high-traffic area.

Best Western Premier Bang Tao Beach Resort
A much more affordable option, while still being a 4-star resort just a moment away from the beach! As with everything else in Bang Tao, walking distance from lots of things to do and eat. Roughly a 30-minute drive from the Pullman, without traffic.

Other
Of course, there are plenty of other options outside of the classic Phuket resort experience! There are 3-star hotels located across Nai Yang beach, although we wouldn’t advise staying too close to the airport due to the potential noise and traffic in the area. There are also 3-star hotels located in the Bang Tao beach area, although these aren’t particularly nearby the Pullman hotel. We would like to note that there can be significant traffic in Bang Tao, especially during rush hour, which should be taken into consideration when reviewing these hotels.
Additionally, there are options on sites such as AirBnB and VRBO. There is much less choice for those traveling in a couple/small group, but once you get to 6+ people staying together then there are more options available. Two complexes that may be good for larger groups/families are the Pearl of Naithon or the Laguna Properties. However, these homes are often located slightly further away from beaches/restaurants, so it may be worth renting a car or hiring a car service for use while staying in these locations.
